Entertainment / Video Gaming
Increasingly, multi-player and online games require input devices and graphics creation to mimic the real world. Presently, input devices are limited to gaming peripherals such as the mouse, joystick, 2D webcam, or wands.
MESA's technology allows the creation of 3-dimensional depth maps that help create the next level in interactivity and reality. This technology is being incorporated into camera designs to enable a host of new entertainment/video gaming applications:
- Direct player-to-machine interactivity and control - without the use of any external, hand-held accessories.
- Use of arm and hand gestures as inputs for a variety of immersive games.
- Head tracking and facial movement sensors to enable head nods, shaking, and facial movements as signaling methods to virtual team members or games.
- Advertising oriented kiosk-based games
