The SR4000 supports triggered acquisition modes. The trigger may be either a hardware signal (in hardware triggered mode) or generated by software (in software triggered mode). The trigger signal initiates the image integration . Also, a hardware output which indicates the start and end of image integration is available. This may be used to synchronize external systems with an SR4000 in both triggered and continuous acquisition modes.
